Biloxi, MS (PRWEB) December 17, 2009 – The Broadband Multimedia Marketing Association (BMMA), an international organization dedicated to helping telephone companies advance the adoption and use of broadband services, is proud to announce the addition of two new members: Frontier Communications and Occam Networks. These new members further strengthen the BMMA — bringing the total number of members to 27 — and provide a strong endorsement of the vitality and relevance of the BMMA, whose mandate clearly resonates with leading service providers and equipment vendors from across North America.
“We believe that broadband is a catalyst for job growth and a healthy economy,” said Jack Yovanovich, Director, West Region Marketing for Frontier Communications. “For this reason, Frontier is pleased to join a group that is strategically focused on opportunities brought about by the evolution of broadband technologies. The BMMA’s regular topical conference calls and in-depth workshops are great venues to learn about industry trends and services, share best practices, and network with other professionals.”
“Occam is excited to join the BMMA and is eager to represent the viewpoints of hundreds of network operators with this diverse group of broadband providers and technology suppliers,” said Juan Vela, Director of Solutions Marketing and Strategy at Occam Networks. “We look forward to working with member companies to develop successful marketing strategies with the ultimate goal of furthering broadband service coverage and adoption.”
The BMMA provides a forum to address the collective challenges and opportunities of offering consumers the best broadband services possible in an increasingly competitive marketplace through:
· two face-to-face meetings per year (the Annual General Meeting and the Fall Workshop), which include deep dive roundtable discussions on current issues relevant to broadband services marketing;
· monthly “Hot Topic” conference calls; sample topics from 2009 included broadband usage,
Wi-Fi strategies, home networking, high speed Internet technology updates, customer contact strategies, and marketing to SMBs;
· ongoing research and benchmarking projects, including the Semi-Annual Benchmarking Report (which includes data on broadband penetration, churn, and growth) and the Annual Meeting Membership Survey (which investigates speeds, optional services, and enhanced services); and
· the annual “Best in Class marketing Awards”, designed to recognize individuals or teams that have demonstrated innovation or excellence in marketing broadband services.
The BMMA 2010 Annual Meeting will take place at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach Hotel in Newport Beach, California on March 1-2, 2010. This year’s event will include roundtable discussions on current hot topics related to broadband services, an update on our industry benchmarking report, the presentation of the Best in Class Awards and the election of our 2010 Board of Directors. Individuals from non-member companies are encouraged to join the BMMA or to attend as a guest. (For more information, please contact Lisa LaBorde at email@example.com).
